If you are still unsure you can see the top 10 charities for different subjects like the ten more viewed charities, the ten charities with the most consecutive 4-star ratings, or the ten highly rated charities with favorable reviews.

   Amount needed to sponsor a child:
     According to CBS News the amount needed depends on the organization, but it can vary from 10 to 40 dollars.  Of course you are given the option to donate higher amounts too.
